Accept as they are
This poem asks the reader to accept the person as they are, only then will you be able to see the true beauty of their imperfections. Not to change them in the way you see the world, but to embrace and dance with them while gently letting them see themselves. Only then can you smile until the end.
You've decided to walk a path of your own,
So go on with your life and be happy my dear.
The past is the past, the future is not here,
So why do you suffer and what do you fear?
Where there is love, there is bound to be pain,
Remember my words even if you forget my name.
We have to nurture this feeling day after day,
No two people on this earth can ever be the same.
Whoever comes next, if you fall in love once again,
Accept them and their love into your own heart,
Accept we're not perfect yet we give our best,
More so for the person we hold close to our chest.
Only then will you see the person as they are,
And not as someone who you need to change.
Witness their flaws, yet hold their hands and you dance,
With smiles on your faces, both of you advance.
